Now that funding has been approved by the state of Baden-Württemberg, the official go-ahead has been given for the construction of the PV system. The plan is for a system with around 700 modules, which will be attached to the existing noise barrier over a distance of 400 meters. In this way, already sealed surfaces can be put to good use. The sponsor is the newly founded Bürger Energie Ortenau EG cooperative.

The transformer required to use the electricity is being sponsored by transformer specialist J. Schneider Elektrotechnik, which manufactures its transformers at its plant in Elgersweier. “We are happy to support this project, especially as we are at home in the renewable energy market with our products,” agree Managing Director Rolf Anti and Jo Huber and Ben Huber as representatives of the owner family..
